Lead Generation

There are sales and there are leads. A sale is pretty obvious. Any time a customer whips out a credit card and purchases something online you just earned a sale. But what is lead generation?

Any time you capture a customer's information that is a potential customer for a website, you've generated a lead. The commission is generally low ($1-$3) per customer but the conversion is very, very high.

To get a lead all you have to do is get a customer's name and email -- or in some cases you'll be paid just for getting their zip code.

Affiliate Network

If you're the affiliate what's an affiliate network? Sounds like a whacky t.v. station, huh? The affiliate network is the middle man in most cases. They collect the money from the company that owns the products and distributes the commission to you, the affiliate.

They handle all the money so these guys are very important.

PPC (Pay-Per-Click)

Pay per click is a form of advertisement where you're given the opportunity to pitch a product or service through a web link. If a customer clicks on your link, you have to pay a fee. The fee for every click is .05 up to $10 and even higher in some cases.

I know what you're thinking... $10 is way too much for one click. And in most cases it is. But there's usually a reason why clicks cost so much -- Because that's where the buyers are. If it cost you $10 to make a $100 sale would you do it? Of course.

PPC is easy to start but takes a little practice to master. Be sure to watch all the PPC tutorials so you have a good understanding for how it works, and how to make it profitable.

Organic Traffic

Organic traffic is free clicks. A customer found your site through a search engine and it didn't cost a penny to get that customer. He found his way to your website or web page all on his own. Getting sales through free organic traffic is one of the best feelings a marketer can have, because it's 100% profit.
