Why Split Testing Is Important

Every aspect of affiliate marketing has one thing in common. You should always be striving to improve. Whether you're trying to increase the number of visitors, your conversion rate, or overall monthly sales. You always want to get better.

That's where split testing comes in. It's an efficient method to find the best return and improve your results.

The Basic Concept Of Split Testing

Always focus on the results of what you're doing. It's common for people to associate something that's visually appealing as a success. When you create or visit a website, you might be thinking, "Wow, what a nice looking site. It must make a lot of money".

It's also common to think the opposite of a site that isn't visually appealing. You'd be surprised how often the opposite is true. You're going to be influenced by what you perceive to be appealing.

That's where split testing takes over. It eliminates any bias you might have and forces you to take the best results. Would you rather have a pretty website that makes $100 a month, or an ugly website that makes $1000 a day?

Let's use the above example for a split test. You have one "pretty" website and you have an ugly site. The only way you could find out which is more profitable is to split test them.

You send an equal amount of visitors to each website and the site that produces the most sales and the most money at the end of several weeks is the clear winner.
